Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA)
The Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) is a flagship Centrally Sponsored Scheme launched by the Ministry of Education,
Government of India to uplift the quality, access, equity, and excellence of higher education in the country.
The scheme is built on
the foundational principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on strengthening infrastructure, promoting
accreditation, enhancing digital and teaching resources, encouraging multidisciplinary learning, and improving employability
for students across underserved and educationally disadvantaged regions.
PM-USHA aims to support state higher educational
institutions through institutional grants, capacity building, research promotion, and equity initiatives.
